Do I need to own land before I start to process to build a custom home?

Simple answer is: No, you don’t. If you have identified a piece of land for your new home, our experienced team can provide all the information you need to help with your search and then roll this into your construction loan. The loan will pay off your land at the initial closing and then we can begin the construction process.

Not at this home. However, we have forged strong and reliable real estate agent relationships to help you locate the perfect location for your new home; we then pay them for their assistance without passing that on to you.

Absolutely, you can. First, we help you select a plan to meet your specific needs along with an exterior look that inspires you. Then, you’ll have the opportunity to personalize your home with structural changes to perfect your home, along with all the fit and finishes from our design studios to make it uniquely yours. To top it off, this is all accomplished in one convenient location.

If you’ve already found a house plan you love, we’d love to meet and review it. This step will often lead our customers to one of our house plans as a starting point and more cost-effective solution.

Once you’re ready to get started, our consultant will let you know the amount of earnest money required (based on size of agreement). Earnest Money amount is normally range between $2,500 to $10,000 to start your home building experience with Holloway Family Homes.

We are happy to work with lender that you feel most comfortable with as long as they do construction loans. Our consultant can also refer you to some of our preferred lenders.

Starting price is for home ONLY per standard specifications (location specific). Site improvement such as clearing, construction road, topo adjustment, water well, septic, electric from source to home will be priced after site evaluation.

We provide a 10-year warranty from our partners at Quality Builders Warranty, which is backed by Liberty Mutual Insurance.

Once construction starts, it generally takes 6-8 months from laying the footers to handing you the keys to your new home. Yes, building on lots with slopes or uneven terrain typically incurs additional costs, such as extra expenses for a crawlspace foundation.
